The Home of Felton and Thirston
Welcome to the online home of the villages of Felton and Thirston.
This site may become the community site for the villages of Felton and Thirston. At the moment, its main purpose is to allow online access to The Bridge, the community bi-monthly magazine, so it can be read by people anywhere in the World. You can download editions in Adobe PDF format (see below).
In the future it may contain forums, community announcements, and news articles.
Felton and Thirston are situated in mid-Northumberland, in the North of England, UK. The two villages are connected via a medieval stone bridge which used to carry the ‘Great North Road’, the main route between England
“The Bridge” is a bimonthly newsletter written and produced for the whole community by local volunteers and circulated free to over 650 households in Felton and Thirston. It is the ideal way to publicise or advertise an event or service. Please make use of the opportunities we offer. We welcome all contributions to the newsletter, particularly on disk or via e-mail, but ask that contributors providing articles as computer files note the following: please ensure that your articles are saved as text only files (with filenames ending in .txt) to ensure compatibility with our desktop publishing software. Most word processors have this facility; if you need technical help on completing the task, please contact one of the production team for advice.
Thank you and we hope you enjoy the issues.
